How to Buy from Us
What can I buy from Good Tree Farm?
  • In the up-coming 2010 season we plan to cultivate vegetables, fruit and herbs which you can buy as fresh field grown produce.
  • We also have meat by the pound from our pasture-fed livestock operation.  Currently, we have lamb meat only, but we should have goat meat and cage-free chicken by June 2010.
When are these items available?
  • Fresh field grown produce is available from June to October/November. For a listing of harvest availability please see the NJ Dept of Ag harvest availiability chart by clicking here .
  • Lamb meat is available year-round. Chicken meat is available starting June.  Goat meat is scheduled to be available in September.
  • Fresh greenhouse grown produce will be available starting mid-December 2010 until early March 2011. Sign-up for the winter CSA will begin October 2010.
How do I buy from Good Tree Farm?   What purchase options do I have?
  1. Stop at the farm during our hours of operation and buy from the farm stand at our regular prices (same as conventional produce prices from supermarkets – still a big savings!).
  2. Buy at the lowest prices buy purchasing a CSA Share. To see what you get in a CSA share, please click here .
  3. Buy a discount card and get a percentage off every time you stop into the farm to buy as you need to.  To purchase a discount card click here.

Can I get the items I order online delivered if I do not want to come to the farm?

  • Due to costs, we will deliver ONLY if there are 10 CSA members paying for delivery to a location.  You can pay a $5 handling and delivery fee during the online check-out process and we will deliver it to the drop off location you indicate, if 9 other neighbors/friends/family sign-up with you. Plus youal get 10% discounted from your CSA membership fees!

Will you deliver to my house?

  • No, we do not deliver to customers’ homes.  We only deliver to designated drop-off locations.  You have to choose the location which is most convenient for you during check-out.

How do Good Tree Farm’s prices compare with other farms or supermarkets or specialty markets?

  • Check out the websites of other farms in central Jersey to see how our CSA prices compare to theirs.  The difference is clear.
  • Our CSA season share prices are at least 40% less than the price of chemically sprayed conventional produce from regular supermarkets (like Shoprite and Stop & shop), and more than 60% less than organic specialty markets (like Whole Foods and Wegmans).  Conventional produce sold by supermarkets is sprayed with herbicides to control weeds, and pesticides to control insect pests.  Residue and breakdown molecules from these chemicals are harmful and found in high quantity in conventional produce.  Organic specialty markets charge very high prices for their organic produce and it is often trucked in from Mexico, California or Florida.  Sometimes the quality is quite poor as well.

Are there any other ways to get low prices when we buy from Good Tree Farm?

  • Discount cards can give you up to 15% lower prices compared to regular supermarkets, and up to 35% lower prices compared to organic specialty markets.

Does Good Tree Farm help low/fixed income senior citizens and socially disadvantaged groups to afford its fresh, organic produce?

  • Good Tree Farm is a Certified Farmer Vendor in the NJ State Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program(FMNP)  administered by the NJ Dept. of Health & Senior Services, Division of Family Health Services.  Click here to see our certification letter.   We can accept payments with WIC cash-value vouchers and WIC & Senior FMNP checks.  Good Tree Farm acknowledges the especially vulnerable state of many seniors and WIC participants and extends to them an additional 20% discount on top of our already low prices.
  • For seniors who are not participants in the State FMNP we have the Seniors Advantage Discount Program.  Through this program, Senior citizens 60 or older get an automatic 20% discount, year-round, when they present their Senior Center membership card (issued by their township senior center) or their AARP membership card.  We will make a copy of the card and issue you a Good Tree Farm Senior Discount card for your use every time you purchase at the farm.  This card provides for free delivery to designated drop-off locations, with online orders.
