Our project is faith-driven and family-focused. Quran: (The similitude of a Good Word is that of a Good Tree, Its roots are firmly anchored to the ground and its branches reaching up into the sky * It brings forth its fruit at prescribed times as ordained by its Lord and Creator, And so does God set forth parables for people that they may remember) Quran - Sura Ibrahim, verses 24-25. Bible: (Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but the corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit). Mathew 7:17 (For there is no good tree that bringeth forth corrupt fruit; nor again a corrupt tree that brigeth forth good fruit). Luke 6:43 Talmud: (He who has more learning than good deeds is like a tree with many branches but weak roots; the first great storm will throw it to the ground. He whose good works are greater than his knowledge is like a tree with fewer branches but with strong and spreadingroots, a tree which all the winds of heaven cannot uproot). Our project welcomes people of faith and those who care about family values. - Faith-driven Organic CSA projects are powerful means by which individuals with similar values can work together to achieve more than anyone can achieve alone.
- We believe that people’s health and the health of the environment are greatly and directly impacted by how food is produced, and by the lifestyles people choose.
- We envision a national movement that brings together people of faith to change how our food is produced and reduce the negative environmental and health impacts of our nation’s food production practices.
Faith-Driven - We are faith-driven because increasing tolerance and understanding promotes peace and social harmony between people and can be achieved by highlighting the core values we all agree on. Those values are shared by all people of faith.
- Thus, we place great value on our farm's produce being made available to the most needy and disadvantaged in our society. We do that through the 'Strategic Partnerships for the Common Good' marketing program. Corporations, businesses and even ordinary individuals can sponsor a charitable organization helping the poor and disadvantaged by paying for the cost of fresh organic produce. We deliver the charitable donations of fresh, organic produce to them on a weekly basis.
- Our plans include participating in the NJ State WIC and Seniors Farmers Market Nutrition program which makes healthy and nutritious food affordable to some of the most needy in our society.
Family-Focused - We are also family focused because we believe the health and we ll-being of any society begins in the home and that the nuclear family, composed of parents and children, is the most important building block of society.
- We strive to provide an environment in which families can enjoy a day or part of a day getting in touch with the producers of the food they eat and the means by which that food is produced.
- While they are visiting our farm, we try to facilitate diverse and enjoyable activities for all members of the family to ensure no family member is left out. We hope you bring your family out to visit us when spring roles around. We'd love to add you to one of our scheduled tours when they begin, and we'd love to share more of the ideas and aims of our project with you in person.
