Medicinal plants are plants that have medicinal or health maintenance value. These include many plant species which we consume on a regular basis, but also many plant species which are especially known and used by traditional medicine in many parts of the world. The efficacy of these plants has, in most cases, been proven by scientific investigation and has added to their viability as an affordable alternative to synthetic chemical drugs. St. John’s Wort is a medicinal plant, so is Saw Palmetto and so is Echinacea - to name a very small number. |
